To use a julienne peeler: To make zoodles with a julienne peeler, simply run it across the zucchini length-wise, creating strands. If you're wanting to go all out with zoodles and all the veggie noodles it's not a bad idea to invest in an electric spiralizer that'll zip noodles out in an instant. Stir-Fries and Wraps: Shred veggies with a julienne peeler and add them to a stir-fry, or use them as a filling for a lettuce wrap or spring roll. Zucchini Noodles Recipe Using the julienne blade of a mandoline or a spiral vegetable slicer, slice zucchini lengthwise into long, thin strands. How to make zucchini noodles with a peeler recipe: Peel zucchini with a peeler lightly saute in oil. This will ensure a smooth spiralizing process. You can easily make zucchini noodles with a julienne peeler, the julienne blade of a mandoline, or this nifty contraption: the spiral vegetable slicer. PRO TIP: When purchasing your zucchini, try and get super straight ones (bendy ones don't do so great in these spiralizers!) and then before starting the zoodles cut a very straight edge on the zucchini and place it exactly in the center of the blade. This machine also works great with carrots, beets, turnips, potatoes, cassava, and even cucumbers and has multiple settings for thicker and thinner cuts. We highly recommend investing in one of these if you're planning to have zoodles on a regular basis. The third way to do them is with a vegetable julienne. These hand cranked machines are a bit more expensive but well worth the investment as they last for years and churn out zoodles super quickly and easily. The second way is to use a regular vegetable peeler, stack the pieces, and then cut them into ribbons. This is our preferred method for zoodle making.
